Get involved

This gets built by people who live here.

Foundations of Love is young, and that is the best time to join. There is real work to do before Haven of Rest opens its doors, and more once it does.

Volunteer

Tell us what you can offer

Time, skills, equipment, professional expertise, or an occasional helping hand can all be useful.

We never share your information.

Give
Where help is needed

You do not have to be a childcare professional to be useful.

  • When we open

    Caregivers and childcare staff

Experience with infants or school-age children, and a willingness to work the hours most people won't.

  • Now

    Trades and hands-on help

Electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, and the hundred small fixes a building needs before it can be licensed.

  • Now

    Board and advisory

Nonprofit governance, early childhood education, finance, licensing, and legal.

  • Soon

    Meals and supplies

Cooks and people who can help organize donations of needed childcare supplies, food and meal supplies, learning materials, and sleep supplies.

  • Now

    Fundraising and events

Help us tell this story well and raise what it takes to open the doors.

  • Always

    Prayer

We ask for it plainly, and we mean it. Write to us and we will send you what to pray for.

Current needs list

Find the thing that makes you say, “I can help with that.”

This list will change as Haven of Rest moves from planning to opening. Right now, these are the clearest places to step in.

Now
  • Leads on a safe building, church wing, former childcare space, shared-use space, or other possible home for Haven of Rest.
  • Grant research, grant writing, fundraising, and community introductions
  • Nonprofit governance, childcare licensing, legal, finance, and insurance expertise
  • Financial gifts and in-kind professional services for readiness work
Soon
  • Cooks and people who can help organize donations of needed childcare supplies, food and meal supplies, learning materials, and sleep supplies
  • Childcare equipment, sleep equipment, kitchen items, learning materials, safety equipment, and other program supplies identified as we prepare to open
  • Electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, skilled labor, and renovation materials
  • Volunteers to sort, inventory, transport, and prepare donated items
When we open
  • Background-checked caregivers and overnight childcare staff
  • Meal support, family welcome, transportation coordination, and ongoing supply teams
  • Partners who can contribute resources, services, connections, expertise, or sponsorship
  • Prayer partners who will continue covering children, families, staff, and decisions in prayer
Ways to support

Money is one way to help, not the only way.

In-kind gifts
Goods, services, equipment, materials, professional expertise, or skilled labor.
Volunteers
Time and skills offered before opening and as the ministry grows.
Partners

Prayer — Spiritual Support
Prayer for God's guidance, the children and families, the team, and each next step.
For organizations

Partner with the ministry.

Overnight childcare is not only a family issue. It is a workforce issue, a church issue, and a community issue. Employers lose good people over it. Congregations have space and hearts for it. Tell us what your organization can offer — resources, connections, services, expertise, space, volunteers, or something we have not thought to ask for yet.

  • Churches

Host, sponsor, or send volunteers. If your building sits empty overnight, it may be exactly what we are looking for.

  • Employers

If your staff works third shift, sponsoring overnight care is a direct investment in keeping them.

  • Community organizations

Refer families, share the need, or collaborate on resources that reach the same households we do.

Looking ahead

Overnight care is the beginning, not the whole plan.

Our long-term vision includes family-centered programs and resources beyond childcare — practical support, encouragement, and connection for families in the stretches between crises. We will name those programs here as they take shape, rather than promise them before they are real.

Volunteer

Tell us what you can offer.

Time, a skill, a truck, an evening a month — tell us what is realistic for you and we will find where it fits.
