Help us find a home for Haven of Rest.
Somewhere in this community there is a building where children will sleep safely while their parents work. We are searching for it now, and we would rather find it together than alone. If you know of a space — or you are simply willing to think about it with us — we would love to hear from you.
Buildings sit empty at exactly the hours we need them.
Church education wings, former daycare rooms, and quiet corners of community buildings may sit unused overnight. Those are precisely the hours when Haven of Rest will need a safe, welcoming place for children and families.
We are not looking for something grand. We are looking for a space that can be made safe, licensed, and warm, where children can rest safely and peacefully while their parents work.
We are currently searching for a home that will allow us to work toward our planned September 2027 opening.
We would especially welcome hearing from
- Property owners with an available building or unused wing
- Churches and faith-based organizations with space that sits empty overnight
- Community organizations and neighborhood associations
- Businesses willing to host, sponsor, or donate space
- Schools and former childcare or daycare facilities
- Neighbors who simply know of a place that might work
Six things, in plain terms.
If a space you have in mind meets most of these, it is worth a conversation. Do not rule anything out on our behalf.
We have become more open to beginning in an appropriate shared-use space if that allows Haven of Rest to begin serving families while we continue working toward our future facility.
- Room to rest
- A safe, quiet area with enough space to create an appropriate overnight sleeping environment for the children in our care.
- Room to be awake
- Space for the evening meal, quiet activities, and settling in during the hours before rest.
- Kitchen and bathrooms
- A usable kitchen for evening meals and breakfast, and bathrooms appropriate for children from birth through 12.
- Safety and licensing
- A building that can meet Indiana childcare licensing, fire, and safety requirements.
- Safe arrival at night
- Lit, secure parking and entry for parents arriving and leaving after dark.
- A place to begin — or room to grow
- We are open to a space that can meet our needs as we begin, including an appropriate shared-use space, or a location that offers room to grow as Foundations of Love expands its services to children and families.
No pressure, and no obligation.
- Step 1
You tell us about the space
A few sentences is plenty. An address, a rough size, and how to reach you.
- Step 2
We come and look
Nawannda Moore or a member of the Foundations of Love team will follow up and arrange a convenient time to walk through the space.
- Step 3
We work out what is possible
Lease, donation, shared use, or a season of use while we grow — we are open to arrangements that work for you.
Tell us about a space.
Even a maybe is worth sending. If you would rather write directly, Nawannda Moore reads every message.
